Eve University Hosts CSM Debate
Saturday, November 15, 2008 5:32
On Nov. 2, 2008, CSM Dierdra Vaal pulled as many candidates together as possible and held an open debate on the EU TS server to gain more participation from the newer players that attend Eve University.
What is this CSM thing?†
The CSM, short for Council of Stellar Management, is a council of 9 elected players. These players will bring issues that are important to the Eve community to the attention of CCP. CCP is obligated to respond to every issue brought forward by the CSM, whether it they decline or accept it. CSM members serve for a term of 6 months, and have 3 meetings with CCP during this term. One of these meetings takes place in CCPs HQ in Iceland during a 3 day CSM/CCP summit. The CSM has regular internal meetings throughout their term to determine which issues they will and will not bring up with CCP.
Why should I vote?
Different players have different views for the direction the game has to take. Different players have different areas of interest. Therefore, different candidates will support (or NOT support) different issues. This influences which issues eventually end up in front of CCP. Just as in a real democracy, you vote for the person you feel will defend your interests best. If you don’t vote, you don’t get to complain!
Head to the Eve Online website to see a list of Candidates and cast your vote.
